Case study · Afropolitan fashion, Nairobi
In three months, a fashion brand went from a baseline of almost nothing to the top result for the searches that describe what it stands for.
Fashion is one of the hardest places to rank. Marketplaces like Jumia and Jiji own the product searches, and global brands own the how-to-wear searches.
Vikkie Oh Atelier had a distinct point of view, Afropolitan, boardroom-to-weekend and mixed-media Ankara, but a site that said it only on the home page. A ranking audit on 8 June 2026 showed page-one results for the brand name and almost nothing else.
Checked on Google, Kenya setting, 3 November 2026. Positions are organic results and can move day to day. Baseline is the VOA Phase 1 SEO ranking report of 8 June 2026.
